I was going to rec this for challenge 56 but then i saw the 3 seasons or less part, Profiler made it to 4 before being canceled. Though only seasons 1-3 had the awesome Jack/Samantha plot.

WIP?: No. There is word of this being the first of a series of three but i haven't been able to find the other two.

Why This Must Be Read: In this fic Jacqui gives me almost everything i could hope for from a Scewed fic (to ship Jack/Sam is to be a skewed believer). (S)he proposes a believable hypothesis for how Jack meets and subsequently becomes obsessed with Samantha, (s)he provides back story, an exceptional look into the minds of both Jack and Samantha and explores how finally facing the Jack of All trades might effect Samantha psychologically. But best of all, in my humble opinion, Jacqui writes absolutely awesome interaction between Jack and Samantha. It's something many Skewed writers have attempted, but only a handfull have done successfully. I wish there was more like it.

Why This Must Be Read: This story starts right in the middle of 2x06 so Mason doesn't die but stays alive to help Bonnie out of her depression and anger issues over Grams ‘death. After that infamous torture session, Bonnie stops the vampires from killing Mason and shows who Katherine truly is, via magic means, thus ensuring his collaboration to let the gang have the moonstone. Later on, Mason begins to notice that Bonnie has embarked on slightly self-destructive ways to deal with her problems, and the somehow romantic friendship that develops between ends up saving her eventually. This fic deserves extra point to not have Mason and Bonnie jumping on each other simply because they have a connection – she is younger and emotionally vulnerable and Mason never once disrespects that. The feelings between them stay always nicely unsaid and platonically expressed, and their relationship is all healthier for it. The word ‘courtly love’ comes to mind and fits perfectly to describe their dynamic.

Plus Norrific is an incredible, and incredibly deep writer.

Why This Must Be Read: This is perfectly characterized, beautifully written, heartwrenching oneshot that has Lily realizing, in various histances of her married life, that that not all the blame laid on Severus' shoulders where the end of their friendship is concerned.  Read it: it might just to make you cry and then smile

Why This Must Be Read: This fic is set 10 years post-Chant Down Babylon, where Liz is now a lawyer living in Russia and Max is in jail, framed for a murder he didn't commit. This fic is beautifully written, with intricate details and believable characters. How this author was able to tie in an older version of each character and still retain their voice is astounding. It is also has well-developed original characters and THE most believable child character I've seen in fan fiction.

Mockingbird also manages to capture the magic of season 1 Max/Liz while melding in the realities of season 3. I ADORE this fic.
