Why This Must Be Read: This fic has everything that I wished would happen if Mary and Robert ever met again. The attention to detail is just lovely, as is the dialogue and the setting. It is sensual and a perfect coda to the film.

Why This Must Be Read: Why this fic doesn’t have a million reviews is one of life’s great mysteries. It is brilliant! Extremely well-plotted, well-written, and the voices are perfect. There is action galore and you can see everything so perfectly as you read it. Selena is a BAMF in the absolute best of ways as is Hannah. Once you start this fic you won’t be able to let it go.

Why This Must Be Read: Both Matt and Alesha are just gorgeous in this. Compassionate and understanding of each other. It deals with what happened to Alesha in such a sensitive and realistic way and it made me feel all sorts of good about these two. The writing is sensual and it’s just a gorgeous read.

Why This Must Be Read: Quite literally the second piece of fanfiction I've ever read, "After The End" was written while we all waited desperately for Book 5 to come out. Essentially, it picks up in a post-Voldemort Potterverse, as everyone struggles to recover from a devastating war and to deal with outlying elements of it. Characters we love fall and fumble into each others' arms beautifully if not always gracefully. (The authors must have been borderline clairvoyant, to have called a few of the pairings that later became canon.)

It's AU now, but at the time it was an entirely believable continuation of the series, from the characterization to the writing style to the length, plot arc, and setting. I have to imagine it still holds up now--frankly, the writing at points may be even better than JKR's. If you read one massively long Potterfic, and it isn't Hermione, Queen of Witches (also by Arabella), this is it.
