Why This Must Be Read: It's called The Stage. Every woman in the Seireitei goes through it. Falling in love with Kuchiki Byakuya. The number one rule, however, is to never expect him to fall back. Psht. Rangiku never played by the rules.

Rangiku's wit, humour and strength are the cornerstones of this story, but its other strengths: minor characters are given development, odd pairings that somehow completely work, respect given to their more canon relationships, and, despite the story being primarily drama, the plot is surprisingly compelling. It also features Rangiku stalking Byakuya through the streets and eavesdropping on rooftops. And other places. What more do you need?

Why This Must Be Read: Not only this fic has the best kiss scene, but it also has a great sex scene. Perfect for today, right? This has a beautiful portrayal of Helen, but also of John. It shows how sweet and romantic he can be when the Ripper isn't in control. And the ship is written perfectly, in its tragic beauty. I think the last line of the fic says it all, really.

Why This Must Be Read: There are no more colors. There is no more light. He is alone, in the dark. But he will find her. The blind prince searches for Rapunzel. This story alternates between the prince's search for Rapunzel and flashbacks giving a believable and satisfying build up for what's usually a love-at-first-sight relationship. Personally, I actually enjoy this more than Disney's version of the story.

Why This Must Be Read: Of all the sex scenes I've read in fandom this piece is one of the most memorable. The way the author uses colors to show the progression of Remus and Tonks's relationship really works. A beautiful story that really showcases this pairing in all its facets.

Why This Must Be Read: Jane has to work her wiles on a mark, but has trouble getting into character as it's a particularly repulsive mark. Brandt proves he's a team player and helps her get "in the mood" by regaling her over the comms with the hottest dirty talk I have ever had the pleasure of reading. I could imagine Jeremy Renner's voice as I was reading and I think I may have actually whimpered a little. Seriously guh-inducing. It's evident that Brandt isn't just making things up off the cuff--he's been imagining it for a long time, and Jane clearly reciprocates judging by the ending. *g* Plus, Benji provides fantastic comic relief.
