Why This Must Be Read: This is actually an expanded story from the same author's 20 Sentences Series (that's also amazing). This story will make you cry A LOT. Like bucket loads of tears. It deals with the fact that one half of a beautiful happy couple is biologically destined to live twice as long as the other. It also blends in elements of the movie with amazing ease and even though Spock and Uhura are in their old age in this story, they still feel completely in character. It'll either make you want to go find your soulmate to grow old with... or make you want to kill yourself. Or a little of both. That's how beautifully their love was depicted in this story.
