Why This Must Be Read: This is a great follow up to Pride and Prejudice that not only gives attention to a great secondary character, but also stays true to the world and characters created by Austen. This fic is magic in the way it presents the slow awakening of Anne de Bourgh as she steps outside Rosings Park and realizes that the world is not quite as Lady Catherine has painted it. I like that Anne makes mistakes and misjudges and slowly wakes to her own prejudices and flaws, even as she discovers the world and her own capabilities and value. She's petulant and jealous at times, but also brave and kind and willing to correct herself--a true fleshed out character. You'll be cheering for her and wishing for her happy ending. The supporting cast is varied and textured, and there are some lovely cameos by some familiar characters. Enjoy!

Why This Must Be Read: What would've happened if Darcy and Liz were trapped together in the Netherfield library? This story is absolutely lovely and the interaction between the two are spot-on; it really makes you believe this could've been a deleted scene. Darcy is trying to keep himself in check and fight his attraction to Elizabeth (cause it's so improper!) but he's obviously failing miserably.

Why This Must Be Read: This is actually an expanded story from the same author's 20 Sentences Series (that's also amazing). This story will make you cry A LOT. Like bucket loads of tears. It deals with the fact that one half of a beautiful happy couple is biologically destined to live twice as long as the other. It also blends in elements of the movie with amazing ease and even though Spock and Uhura are in their old age in this story, they still feel completely in character. It'll either make you want to go find your soulmate to grow old with... or make you want to kill yourself.  Or a little of both. That's how beautifully their love was depicted in this story.

Kyoko/Sho is my guilty pleasure pairing in the Skip Beat! fandom. Kyoko deserves so much better than the man who discarded her without remorse, but. . . there's something I find deeply appealing about their interactions. There's so much history between them, and they understand one another better than either of them is comfortable with.

In this story, Sho remains firmly in denial about how important Kyoko is to him--while very obviously caring about his place in her heart. This is always tricky with Skip Beat! fic, but boonies captures the feel of the manga: Kyoko's wild emotional ups and downs, and Sho's arrogance and childishness.

Why This Must Be Read: Summary: Ariadne's new life is torn apart when Robert Fischer asks for her help. There's something dangerous crawling through his dreams, and it wears a familiar face. An interesting and unique pairing, and so awesomely explored. I loved the character insight and this possibility of a future. Very expertly written, and the author explores the emotions and details just wonderfully. Go, check this out if you're remotely curious or interested in this pairing.
