Why This Must Be Read: I have shipped these two since I first saw this movie as a little girl. The author does a great job of keeping both Mary and Bert in character. This story takes place many years after the movie, Mary comes to visit Bert and the ensuing conversation is both serious and whimsical. This is such a delightfully lovely story and has become my head canon as to what happened to the two of them after the movie ended. Enjoy! :)
