Why This Must Be Read: This is a LONG multi-chapter fic (166,420 words). {It is the first of a series, by the by.} I enjoy this story because it takes a fairly realistic starting point and builds from there. This includes a good deal of H/C as Emily is shot and Hotch ends up taking care of her. Bonus points to the author for not having her recover overnight. Even after the physical wounds have healed, Emily still battles nightmares. This fic starts from the shooting and builds through their interaction in the days and months afterwards.

Why This Must Be Read: The author has a habit of writing a Christmas fic every year. She tries to start posting on 12/1 and finish by Christmas. In 2007, she wrote this fic. It has a good deal of Christmas love and shenanigans, but stays true to the show by having a case to solve as well. This particular criminal brings a whole new level of "Grinch" to the season. The attractions are already present, and Garcia decides Christmas is the time for her friends to get a clue and act on them. The new case might try and screw with her schedule, but she's determined.

I enjoy this fic because it starts with David mulling over his confusing attraction and conflicting opinions on Penelope until he's downright grumpy only to run into the bubbling computer tech. It really is lovely to see David Rossi confused by Penelope Garcia.

Why This Must Be Read: This story was the first time I ever read this pairing. These authors have a wonderful feel for both characters. Penelope is her bubbly, creative, flirty self, and she brings out the best in Rossi. Their banter is wonderful, and the authors get bonus points for having Morgan be all overprotective big brotherly. If you only read ONE fic with this pairing? This has to be it!
